What is Paris like, and what can you do there?

I'm staying in the montcalm hotel, already plan to do some shopping and to see the eiffel tower, however not interested in disneyland.

Answer :
Eiffel Tower,
The Louvre,
Many Museums - Picasso, etc. Can't possibly name them all.
Notre Dame Basillica,
Moulin Rouge,..(Be careful at night, it's a bad neighborhood)
Aquarium,
Pantheon,
Palace of Versailles,
Arc de Triumphe,
Catacombes,
Montmarte,
Cemetaries - so many famous people in the cemetaries around Paris! You can even share a beer with Jim Morrison by pouring a beer on his grave while you have one yourself.
Chocolate Stores - The chocolates they make are so intricate and amazing!
They even have a sex museum by the Moulin Rouge that looks absolutely hilarious (I didn't get the chance to go in, but there was a spanking chair in the window. Looked so funny).

Honestly, there is so much to do in Paris, I can't list it all. You could spend half a day in Paris just sitting at a cafe outside people watching and actually have a blast. I'd recommend trying a crepe at some point. The shopping is spectacular. I was there for ten days and I took 500Euros, which was enough although I could've spent more. If you want to save money, opt for a hostel instead. You can get a 1 or 3 day museum pass, that will allow you to spend about 45 Euros and you have access to .all. the museums for the full three days. Be careful though! A lot of museums are closed on Monday, so make sure to check ahead of time for hours of operation for any of these sites.

PS The only thing I want to warn you is, that downtown - near the Louvre and Pont Neuf, there are LOTS of thieves. Carry your money in a money belt or in a well concealed pocket even if you carry a purse. If you're carrying a schoolbag, wear it on your front to avoid people stealing stuff from behind and try not to pull a map out in open areas or they'll flag you as a tourist in 2 seconds flat. Try not to talk to strangers who approach you saying they lost anything

Answer :
Paris is crowded and expensive. Customer service is pretty awful, and Parisians generally are moody, rude and annoying. If you are a shopaholic, then take lots of money, as much as you possibly can.

There is plenty to see and do, too much to list on here. Check out Paris wiki-travel guide for detailed info.

Dont forget the cathedral at Notre Dame, the Arc d'Triomphe, and the Sacre Couer.
